This event will provide an in-depth look at the unique challenges and opportunities facing the Mojave, Sonoran, and Colorado deserts, as well as key agricultural areas like the Coachella and Imperial Valleys. Learn about the impacts of extreme heat, water scarcity, and ecosystem stress on local communities and economies, and discover strategies for resilience and adaptation.
In addition, our very own ISC3 College Corps students will share highlights from their Youth Voices Series interviews, where they’ve captured insights from UCR students about their perspectives on climate change and its impacts. Our students will present the key feedback they’ve received from their peers and staff, shedding light on campus-wide views about the role of individuals and institutions in addressing the climate crisis.
Whether you are a student, researcher, policymaker, or community member, this event will equip you with valuable insights into building a climate-resilient future for California's Inland Deserts while amplifying youth perspectives on this critical issue.
This event is free and open to the public.
