Join Ivy Pochoda, visiting assistant professor with UCR’s Palm Desert Low-Residency MFA program, on Tuesday, Oct. 15 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. for a virtual discussion of her award-winning thriller “Sing Her Down.”

Set during the COVID-19 lockdown, “Sing Her Down” tells the story of Florence “Florida” Baum, not the hapless innocent she claims to be when she arrives at the Arizona women’s prison, and her ex-cellmate Diosmary Sandoval, who knows the truth about Florida’s crimes. When an unexpected reprieve gives both women their freedom, Dios’s fixation on Florida turns into a dangerous obsession, and a deadly cat-and-mouse chase ensues from Arizona to the desolate streets of Los Angeles.

The event is free, but registration is required. RSVP at https://myadv.ucr.edu/forms/ivy to reserve your spot for the virtual Book Talk.
