The implementation of Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) as part of the UC Cybersecurity Mandate has brought up questions, particularly concerning its impact on academic work and privacy. To directly address these important considerations, the University of California Office of the President (UCOP) is hosting a webinar featuring three faculty guest speakers with expertise in cybersecurity and digital privacy:

  • Anthony Joseph, Chancellor's Professor in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science at UC Berkeley
  • Stefan Savage, Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at UC San Diego
  • Giovanni Vigna, Distinguished Professor in the Department of Computer Science at UC Santa Barbara

Professors Joseph, Savage, and Vigna will speak directly to concerns about the impact of EDR on scholarly work.
