On May 24, 2022, TerraRad Tech CEO Dr. Derek Houtz will demonstrate how to use the L-band Radiometer at the USDA-ARS US Salinity Lab located at UC Riverside. The L-band Radiometer can be mounted on a drone, tractor, or other agricultural machinery to map soil moisture and vegetation water column. This event is free and is open to anyone interested in learning more about remote sensing technology. View the TerraRad Tech website.

  • 10:15 am: Dr. Derek Houtz: "TerraRad's radiometer for agriculture and hydrology applications." Q&A to follow

About Dr. Derek Houtz

With his PhD in Aerospace engineering, specializing in microwave remote sensing, Derek has been engaged in environmental monitoring for over a decade. Derek built the first TerraRad Tech prototypes in his lab at the Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow, and Landscape Research (WSL).
