A playful exploration of gender, race, and sexuality, A Queer Story of the Boy Band traces the evolution of the male pop vocal ensemble through barbershop, doo-wop, Motown, and more. Combining unique arrangements, dynamic choreography, and band members' personal stories, this musical revue pushes the boundaries of masculinity and reveals how queer, trans, and non-binary people shape its construction.
The Singing Bois is a queer retro band based in Oakland, California. Twisting gender expectations, they blend musical precision, playful staging, and sexy swagger to reimagine new and vintage styles such as R&B, soul, rock, and Latin genres.
Doors open at 6:30pm for a 7pm performance. Pizza provided.
