There are numerous optional surgeries available for transgender people. Join Alexis Ungerer, PhD in this informational workshop to learn about surgery preparation and recovery, risks, costs, and local surgeons who perform these surgeries.  Specifically, transfeminine and nonbinary people will learn about a variety of surgeries including the numerous forms of gender confirmation surgeries, orchiectomy, breast augmentation, facial feminization, and both forms of vocal feminization/“trachea shave.” Similarly, transmasculine and nonbinary people will learn about the various forms of gender confirmation surgeries, oophorectomy, hysterectomy, and bilateral double mastectomy with nipple grafts. Be sure to join the tandem workshop “Obtaining Your Surgery Letters” so that you are fully prepared for your surgeries.  This event is supported by the Highlander Empowerment Referendum.
