UCR students – Join us for Tuesday Talks, a series of supportive discussions led by LGBTRC staff. Ask questions, share your thoughts and explore ideas. From 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays, we close 245 Costo Hall to all but Tuesday Talk participants. (Please note that Tuesday Talks participation is not eligible for class credit.)

Spring 2026 Topics

Week 2, 4/7/26 - Lets Talk Partying Safely

This supportive discussion is for LGBTQ+ people and their allies to share experiences, advice, and recommendations for staying and playing safe with drugs, alcohol, and sex. *This meeting cannot be attended for class credit.

Week 3, 4/14/26 - Inter-Generational Talk - UCR students are welcome to join in a conversation with LGBTQ+ staff and faculty for a supportive discussion around generational differences in the community, and the progression of queer liberation. *This meeting cannot be attended for class credit.

Week 4, 4/21/26 - Fluidity Talk - Fluidity Talk is a supportive discussion group for students to talk about the bisexual, pansexual, genderqueer, transgender, queer and questioning communities, or the need for any labels around sexual orientation or gender identity. *This meeting cannot be attended for class credit.

Week 5, 4/28/26 - Queer In the Workplace - Join us for a supportive discussion about how to deal with homophobia, coming out, and generally navigating the workplace as queer individuals. *This meeting cannot be attended for class credit.

Week 6, 5/5/26 - Fashion Talk - All are welcome to attend a discussion about the meaning of queer fashion: What qualifies certain fashion choices as queer symbolism, and how different identities use this symbolism to find each other. *This meeting cannot be attended for class credit.

Week 7, 5/12/26 - Mental Health Talk - Join us for a discussion on mental health coping skills and how factors related to queer identity can affect it. *This meeting cannot be attended for class credit.

Week 8, 5/19/26 - Lets Talk Politics - This supportive discussion is recommended for LGBTQ+ students to express how they’re feeling about the current political landscape. This discussion is not meant to further any political agenda but offers a space for students to discuss concerns and questions they may have in this complicated political climate. *This meeting cannot be attended for class credit.

Week 9, 5/26/26 - Zodiac Talk - “Zodiac Talk” is a supportive discussion group for LGBTQ+ students and their allies to talk about all things zodiac! Whether it be the signs from different calendars of the world or the popular western charts… the reasons why, and pros & cons… this has become so intertwined in queer culture today. *This meeting cannot be attended for class credit.
