UCR is Dancing: COLLECTIVE is the culminating project of undergraduate dance major students in the Department of Dance, showcasing a collective of original dance works in varicolored styles. The evening will feature nine dance creations that reinterpret each choreographer’s embodied movement and cultural practices through their shared and reinvented choreographic languages.
Some performances may include mature content.

Artistic Director Bio
DaEun Jung is a dancer-choreographer who interlaces forms, principles, and methods of her ancestral and contemporary performance practices within her self-constructed system. Jung’s work has been supported by New England Foundation for the Arts, Los Angeles Performance Practice, REDCAT, Foundation for Contemporary Arts, Pieter Performance Space, Movement Research at Judson Church, and Korea Foundation. She has received residency support from Maggie Allesee National Center for Choreography, Ucross Artist Residency, Loghaven Artist Residency, LA Dance Project, Brockus Project Dance, Camera Obscura Art Lab, and Show Box LA. A 2023 National Dance Project Production Grant awardee, Jung redefines the practice and repertoire of Korean dance in intercultural settings as a continuation of her MFA in choreography at UCLA where she was also a Westfield Emerging Artist. She has taught at Santa Monica College, Loyola Marymount University, University of Nevada Reno, and Indiana University and currently is a lecturer at UCR.
