  these three words sum up global master of the craft\, Mikal Amin. An artis
 t\, emcee\, educator and scholar recognized worldwide from the U.S. State D
 epartment\, to Columbia University to the University of Dortmund in Germany
 \, to the ciphers of New York City\, Mikal’s reputation as emcee\, and teac
 her is all-world. His black bohemian boom bap music has touched the ears\, 
 moved the hearts\, and expanded the consciousness of crowds on five contine
 nts. Always seeking and searching\, a new style griot who continues to spre
 ad love\, the message and the mission. His latest album (released under his
  Indy imprint "Fresh Roots")\, "The Passport" reflects his global Hip-Hop c
 ommunity as he features alongside musicians from seven countries.\n\nA cult
 ivator of the culture\, he's the co-curator of the highly popular “Word. So
 und. Power.” the exclusive springtime Hip Hop/Spoken Word performance at th
 e Brooklyn Academy of Music.  Also a scholar and essayist he is published i
 n the journal “Word Beats & Life” and co-editor of “Hip-Hop Language Arts: 
 Thematic Textual Analysis” on Street Smart Press. Recently\, added to the e
 ditorial board for the Equity and Excellence in Education\, a peer review j
 ournal at the University of Amhersts\, he's taught\, lectured and written a
 bout Hip-Hop pedagogy and anthropology at the African Diaspora Conference i
 n Brazil\, The Shoko Festival in Zimbabwe\, The University of Dortmund's “H
