Vocalists Gabs Urquia, Justa Hoang and Emmalee Brooks from the voice studio of Dr. Camelia Voin

Gabs Urquia, Justa Hoang and Emmalee Brooks will present a recital featuring arias and art songs from the early Baroque era to the Musical Theatre of the 20th century, with Jonathan Keplinger accompanying  at the piano.

Gabs Urquia is a fourth-year double major in Music Performance and Education. They have been studying voice for two years under Dr. Camelia Voin. They have also been studying the violin for 12 years now. Gabs’ dreams for their future career is to be involved in music—both teaching and performing, and wherever else their musicianship will take them.

Justa Huang is currently in her senior year and she has been studying voice for two years under Dr. Camelia Voin. As a singer, her styles range from Jazz, R&B to Classical and Musical Theatre. Not only does she enjoy singing and performing, but her passion is also writing songs and music production. During her time at UCR, she was the season National Anthem Singer for UCR Athletics. Since the pandemic, Justa has worked diligently to pursue her career as an artist and succeeded in producing and co-writing two music videos. She is in the process of writing and producing two EPs. Besides music, she enjoys time with her family, traveling around the world, and hanging out with friends. 

Emmalee Brooks is currently an undergraduate majoring in Theatre, Film, and Digital Production with a focus in acting, along with a minor in Korean language. She has a passion for music and singing and for the past two years she studied voice with Dr. Camelia Voin. Emmalee plans to continue pursuing a career in acting and singing.
