Virtual Soap Making 101

Highlander Week of Service is April 18-24, 2021! 

Join Dr. Julie Reints, PhD '19, owner of Dissertation Soap to learn the basics of melt and pour soap making in this live virtual DIY workshop. Each attendee will learn how to use glycerin soap base, proper handling and safety instructions, how to mix in clays and botanicals, loofahs and custom scents.  Participants can either gather materials on their own or purchase a kit in the link below. Each kit includes all the raw materials needed to make 4 custom soaps and detailed instructions on how to make soap. After the event, donate your soap to a local non-profit in your community!

Or you can purchase the ingredients needed: 

1 lb glycerin soap base

1ounce essential oil

1 large plastic liner (13gal kitchen trash bag)

1 pair of nitrile gloves
5x5x3 cardboard box
