The UCR Choral Society presents a preview of ENCUENTROS/ENCOUNTERS 2019: Encuentro Cubano with a performance of Esteban Salas’ (1725-1803) Missa de Difuntos (c. 1764), and two modern secular works: Nostalgias de Serentas (2013) by Guido López-Gavilán (b.1944), and Acapella in Acapulco (1991) by Anders Edenroth (b.1963). The requiem brevis was composed for the Santiago de Cuba Cathedral, November 2, Feast of All Souls’ Day c.1764 in the stile gallant Classicism style.
